A Trigg County couple drowned while fishing Saturday in Boundary County, Idaho.
Officials there tell local media that John and Vicki Fourshee were fly-fishing near Twin Rivers Campground at the confluence of the Moyie and Kootenai Rivers when John slipped as he attempted to cross Moyie.
His wife attempted to help him, but they were both swept into the river.
Local rescue crews were able to pull them from the water, but efforts to revive the victims were unsuccessful
Authorities say John and Vicki, who were in their late 60’s, were each wearing waders.
