Man injured in Bypass accident

A local man was injured in a two-vehicle accident involving a tow-truck Tuesday evening at Eagle Way Bypass and the Pennyrile Parkway.

It happened a few minutes after 6 p.m. and witnesses told Hopkinsville police that 48-year old Donald Freeman of Hopkinsville ran a red light as he attempted to turn his tow-truck northbound on Eagle Way from the Parkway interchange.

He struck a southbound car driven by 32-year old Joseph Oliver of Hopkinsville.

Oliver was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for injuries and Freeman, who told officers that he had the green light, was not hurt.
