Man arrested on multiple charges following Dollar General incident

An incident at the East Ninth Street Dollar General Tuesday afternoon led to a man being arrested on multiple felony charges.

Hopkinsville police were called to the store after 41-year old Deoreo Wilson of Hopkinsville allegedly told a clerk he was going to steal a drink and then left the store with the item.

The clerk knew Wilson had been given a trespass warning to stay away from the store and officers found Wilson and took him into custody.

An arrest citation says Wilson had two plastic baggies of marijuana on his person and that he kicked the inside of the cruiser door until it would not properly close anymore.

Police say he spit on an officer when he was removed from the cruiser.

Wilson is charged with third-degree assault of an officer, third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct.
