Foot pursuit leads to arrest Saturday night

An investigation by Hopkinsville police on Honeysuckle Drive late Saturday night led to a foot pursuit and eventual arrest.

Officers were called to a home in the 1300 block of Honeysuckle, where 44-year old Harold Jones of Hopkinsville was reportedly destroying property.

Jones allegedly ignored officer commands to stop when approached and ran away, eventually falling and injuring himself.

He was checked out at Jennie Stuart Medical Center and the arrest citation says he showed multiple signs of being under the influence of alcohol.

Further investigation determined Jones had allegedly told his wife she wasn’t going to testify against him in an ongoing court case while he was destroying her property and that was in violation of conditions of his release from jail.

Jones was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, public intoxication, violation of conditions of release and intimidating a participant in a legal process.
