Round two of the LPGA Tour’s Volunteers of America Classic outside of Dallas was suspended Friday due to weather issues. Princeton’s Emma Talley had played eight holes before play was stopped. She was one over for the day and five under for the event.
No bogeys through 36 holes have Tom Lewis and Joaquin Niemann at the top of the leaderboard of the PGA Tour’s Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. Lewis and Niemann are each at 10 under par. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker and Lexington native Josh Teater are tied for 63rd at three under, while Campbellsville native JB Holmes missed the cut.
Wes Short, Jr. at six under 66 has a one shot lead over Bernhard Langer and Cameron Beckman after the first round of the PGA Tour Champions Dick’s Sporting Goods Classic in Endicott, NY. Franklin’s Kenny Perry is tied for 20th at two under and Paducah native Russ Cochran is tied for 74th at five over par.
