Mississippi State forces winner take all game at CWS

Mississippi State pounded Vanderbilt 13-2 in game two of the College World Series to force a winner-take-all clash tonight in Omaha. The Bulldogs and the defending champs will play for all the marbles tonight, with a marquee pitching matchup expected between Will Bednar for Mississippi State and Kumar Rocker for Vandy.

NC State officials announced the eight players who tested positive for COVID-19 last week have the Delta variant of the virus. The outbreak cost the Wolfpack an opportunity to play in the decisive game to advance to the College World Series finals. Four players tested positive before the team’s game against Vanderbilt, forcing the team to only play with 13 vaccinated players. After the game, four of the vaccinated players tested positive, bringing an end to NC State’s season.
