Darkness suspended the first round of the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines with 36 golfers still out on the course. Russell Henley and Louis Oosthuizen are tied for first at minus-four, but Oosthuizen only finished 16 holes. Francesco Molinari and Rafa Cabrera Bello are tied at three-under. Brooks Koepka is in a group tied for fifth at two-under. Louisville area native Justin Thomas had an opening round two over 73. Play was delayed early yesterday due to fog.
Princeton’s Emma Talley had a four over par 76 in her opening round yesterday at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Grand Rapids, MI. Four golfers are tied for the lead at seven under 65. Round two is today.
