HPD serves woman with robbery warrants

An arrest warrant for robbery was served by Hopkinsville police Thursday night against a woman accused of helping her father steal merchandise from a local Dollar General.

The warrant alleges that on December 17 of last year, 36-year old Jasmine Quarles of Nicholasville concealed various items of merchandise at the East Seventh Street Dollar Store.

Her father, 60-year old James Carter of Hopkinsville, was also concealing merchandise and he allegedly shoved an employee to the ground as they fled the store.

Quarles and Carter, who was arrested in March, are both charged with second-degree robbery.

Quarles was also served with an indictment warrant for first-degree robbery in connection with an unrelated incident in April, though details of that alleged crime were not provided.
