Pennyrile Electric is hosting several appreciation events through the rest of June throughout the community and are inviting their members to come take part.
Officials were on Harrison Street in Hopkinsville Wednesday handing out buckets and light bulbs and handing out dog treats to furry visitors. Spokesperson Brent Gilkey spoke with WHOP News and says the drive-through appreciation events were planned when pandemic restrictions were still in place and they want a way to reach out to the members.
He says they will have more events, starting Friday at the Oak Grove Community Center, Monday at Elkton City Park, June 23 at the Logan County Extension Office and June 25 at the Lewisburg IGA and people will have a chance to win prizes.
Gilkey says this is their way of getting to see the members who help make Pennyrile Electric what it is and show them how much they are appreciated.
Each event lasts from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on those days, and there will be a Pennyrile Electric member appreciation day at the Western Kentucky State Fair on June 29, where members can get in for free.
