The Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department is happy to be getting back to normal and there are several events coming up.
The first one, starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday, is the Pops in the Park event featuring the Cumberland Winds Concert Band, and Superintendent Tab Brockman says it will be a great event with a variety of musical genres and with food trucks on hand.
He says the department has spaces available in their Summer Adventure Camps—a $100 fee covers eight weeks of camp with seven still left to go—and people can sign-up their kids online.
Tie Breaker Family Aquatic Center is set to open on June 18 after a delayed opening due to renovations and a full year of closures due to the pandemic—Brockman says they’re excited to bring that back to the community with new concessions and events.
Movies in the Park continues next weekend with Fast and Furious 7 at Joe Mumford Park and the Hoptown Hose Down events will take place on Tuesdays for the rest of the summer at multiple parks across the city.
