The Hopkinsville Police Department has charged a Hopkinsville man with second-degree burglary after he was allegedly found inside an apartment no one was allowed to be in.
According to the police report, officers responded to an apartment on South Campbell Street for reports of a burglary in progress where a neighbor reported hearing the back door of the apartment close. The landlord told them to call the police as no one was allowed to be inside the apartment.
Upon arrival, officers noticed the door was not fully secured and they made entry, discovering 41-year old Deoreo Wilson of Hopkinsville laying on a bed inside. Reportedly in plain view in the apartment, of which Wilson was the only occupant, officer discovered methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia, including a glass pipe.
Wilson was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, possession of meth, possession of synthetic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
