Earlington woman hurt in Madisonville collision

An Earlington woman was hurt in a two-vehicle collision Thursday morning in Madisonville.

According to a news release from the Madisonville Police Department, the collision occurred at the intersection of South Main Street and Honeysuckle Drive around 11:56 a.m. Investigation determined that a vehicle operated by 19-year old Makayla Gibson of Earlington was headed north on South Main when a vehicle drive by 76-year old Donnie Asher reportedly turned left into her path.

Asher told officers he never saw Gibson prior to turning.  The two collided, causing significant damage to both vehicles and causing Gibson’s to overturn.

Gibson was transported to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment on injuries.  Asher and a teen passenger in that vehicle were not injured.
