KSP to have extra patrols out for holiday weekend

Kentucky State Police and other law enforcement agencies will have extra patrols out this Memorial Day weekend looking to make the roads safer with an expected uptick in traffic.

Trooper Corey King says KSP will be out in full force, especially in those high traffic and high collision areas.

It’s important to plan a safe and sober ride home if you plan to consume alcohol at a holiday weekend gathering and Trooper King says KSP has been seeing a concerning increase in number of drivers under the influence of drugs.

Memorial Day weekend is traditionally a deadly time on Kentucky roads and KSP hopes the extra patrols can help make traveling a little safer.

Several local law enforcement agencies are also participating in the click it or ticket campaign with an emphasis on stopping and citing motorists not wearing their seat belt.
