Three injured in I-24 crash

Interstate 24 was backed up for several miles Sunday afternoon near Oak Grove following an accident that injured three people.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Andy Spann says a dump truck towing a motor vehicle was heading east near the 90 mile marker when the driver lost control and broke through the cable barriers in the median.

The towed vehicle came loose, scattering debris and the load in the median and the rear axle came off.

The axle struck a westbound RV and another passenger vehicle struck a culvert after swerving to avoid being swept into crash.

The driver and a passenger in the dump truck were taken to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville for possible broken bones.

A juvenile in the passenger vehicle hit his head on the window and was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

Names of those have not been released, but Deputy Spann says none of the individuals are local residents.
