With trial about 10 months away, the Hopkinsville man accused of being impaired when he ran over and killed a Todd County woman last year on Blue and Gray Park Road appeared for a hearing in Todd Circuit Court Wednesday.
Billy Jo Faughn is facing charges of murder, aggravated DUI and possession of marijuana. The defense in the case says they are waiting for some evidence to come back from testing and Judge Joe Hendricks set a pretrial conference for August 4.
Kentucky State Police investigated the crash and allege Faughn traveled 402 feet after leaving Blue and Gray Park Road before striking 71-year old Sarah “Janie” Barrow and pushing her through the wall of her garage.
Barrow later died at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Police say Faughn performed poorly on field sobriety tests and it’s believed he was under the influence of narcotics. Excessive speed was also listed as a factor in the crash.
