Hopkinsville police are investigating after a man was seriously injured in an assault early Saturday morning on Poplar Street.
It happened a few minutes after midnight in the 2200 block of Poplar and 55-year old Cornelius Bussell of Hopkinsville was rendered unconscious and sustained broke bones and possible internal injuries, according to the report.
Bussell was flown to a Nashville hospital for treatment and his condition was unknown.
No arrest had been made in the incident.
