Christian County Public School students, except for those enrolled in the Virtual Learning Academy, will be return to traditional in-person school on January 6 and Superintendent Chris Bentzel is urging them to be ready to get to work.
Students from elementary through the 12th grade will return to school in-person, five days a week, leaving behind the hybrid model that had been used previously, after approval by the Christian County School Board. Superintendent Bentzel says this new plan allows them to get kids back in school and back on track with their education.
Students will do virtual, non-traditional instruction as they were doing before the holiday break on Monday and Tuesday, before coming back on Wednesday. He says a strict, in-school safety model will be used to keep kids safe while providing them with the assistance they need.
Many students have fallen behind while not appearing in person—too many have failing grades on the non-traditional model, so the time to get them back is now.
Bentzel reminded students they will need to bring their Chrome books to school with them when they come to school, as those devices will be required for at least the next eight-days, during which students will be in only one classroom throughout the day. He urged anyone with questions to contact their child’s school.
