Adrian Murray, the man accused of shooting a woman last year in Oak Grove, has not accepted a plea offer from the Commonwealth and has until December 22 to decide what he plans to do next.
Murray appeared virtually in front of Christian Circuit Judge John Atkins Friday, along with defense attorney Michael Thompson, who informed the court that he and his client reviewed a plea offer and decided to not accept it. He is requesting that Murray’s bond be modified, saying that Murray has no previous criminal history and would stay with his mother.
Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen argued that the victim in this case, Keosha Willis, was shot multiple times and spent a lengthy stay in a hospital. She did say they would be willing to work with the defense on a plea offer relating to charges other than the first-degree assault charge he is facing, and go from there.
Judge Atkins gave them a new pretrial hearing date of December 22, to give Murray time to go over his options and decide how he wants to move forward in this case.
Murray allegedly shot Willis on September 1, 2018 during an incident on Meridians Way. He’s also accused of leading Oak Grove police on a vehicle pursuit in July of 2019 that crossed into Tennessee.
