That’s according to the Christian County Health Department, which reports that the overall total is at 3,431—of that, 637 cases are considered active and 2,742 people have recovered from the virus. Christian County has had 52 COVID-19 related deaths.
Jennie Stuart Health has put out a letter to the community, saying that they’ve recently seen a spike in COVID-19 positive patients needing treatment at the hospital. A lot of new patients are coming from their own homes, not long term care facilities—according to officials—and they’re asking the community to be extra diligent in the wearing of face masks, thorough hand sanitizing and social distancing whenever possible.
Recently the hospital had a record high of 30 patients hospitalized with COVID-19. Christian County is experiencing a 48.9 daily case rate per 100,000 people.
