Kentucky’s unemployment rate in August was up from July and up from one year ago.
The preliminary August unemployment rate was 7.6 percent, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics.
That was up 3.1 percentage points from July and up 3.3 percentage points from the 4.3 percent recorded for the state one year ago.
The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for August was 8.4 percent, down from 10.2 percent in July, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
