Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren says the conference’s decision not to play fall sports this season will not be revisited. In an open letter sent out yesterday, Warren said the vote made by the Big Ten Council of Presidents and Chancellors was thorough and deliberative based on sound guidance from medical experts. Several new medical studies have raised concerns about COVID-19’s link to long-term heart health problems like Myocarditis in athletes.

The NCAA Division 1 Council is recommending student-athletes who have had their seasons disrupted by the coronavirus receive an extra year of eligibility. The NCAA Board of Governors is meeting later this week and if approved, will go into effect for next year and will not impact roster limits.
