Todd County gains two COVID-19 cases

Todd County has two new coronavirus cases and one has the virus a second time after being infected over three months ago.

Public Health Director Jen Harris says the adult with other underlying health conditions was one of Todd County’s first cases and has tested positive again. CDC guidelines state a person testing positive for a second time within 90 days is not counted as a new case, but this patient falls out of that date range. The patient is in a congregate setting and has no contacts.

Meanwhile, the other new case is an otherwise healthy adult who is hospitalized with moderate symptoms. That patient has less than 10 contacts and they have been notified to quarantine for 14 days.

Twenty-one of Todd County’s 69 cases are active and the other 48 have recovered.
