Reds, Cardinals, Cubs & Braves open MLB season today

The Cincinnati Reds will open their 2020 season tonight when they host the Detroit Tigers at Great American Ball Park. The Reds will send right-hander Sonny Gray to the mound to face Tigers lefty Matthew Boyd. As part of a temporary rule during the pandemic, both teams will use the designated hitter despite the game being played in a National League ballpark. Coverage begins at 4:40 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

Other action has St. Louis hosting Pittsburgh, the Chicago Cubs welcome the Milwaukee Brewers and the Atlanta Braves at the New York Mets.
