Texas man injured in accident involving motorcycle

A Texas man was injured in an accident involving a motorcycle Saturday afternoon at Pembroke Road and the MLK Bypass.

It happened about 4:30 p.m. and the report from Hopkinsville police says 64-year old Charles Koonse of Austin, Texas was eastbound on the Bypass when he went through a red light and his Harley Davidson struck a northbound pickup on Pembroke Road driven by 30-year old Brandi Cherry of Cottonwood, Tennessee.

Koonse sustained road rash and cuts to his arms and legs and was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Cherry had a cut to her leg, but did not go to the hospital.

Koonse was not wearing a helmet, according to the report.
