Christian County school board to hear options for upcoming year Thursday night

Christian County School System Superintendent Chris Bentzel will present three options to the school board Thursday night about how to proceed in the upcoming school year during a global pandemic.

The options are a traditional model where all students attend in-person instruction, a virtual option where students receive instruction at home and a hybrid option that combines some of both.

The hybrid option would include a scheduled rotation strategy or model where the district would assign students to groups that would attend school on alternating patterns, such as A-B days, AM/PM patterns or alternating weeks. Fewer students would be in the building during the day, allowing for greater social distancing.

When students are not physically in school, they could be participating in project-based learning opportunities and other assignments setup during the days they are in their building.

More details are listed on a new website established by the Christian County Public School System COVID-19 Task Force. Click here to see the new website.

The school board will have its regular July meeting Thursday night at 6 and it will be streamed on the district’s website.
