Updated: Two teens injured in single-vehicle accident

Additional details have been released on a single-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon in Christian County that injured two local teens.

The report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department says 19-year old Alex Larkins of Crofton was eastbound on Buck Fork River Road just after 4 p.m. when he said heavy rainfall hindered his vision of the roadway.

His brakes locked up and caused him to slide when he came to a “y” in the road and attempted to slow down. The pickup went off the roadway and struck a tree.

Larkins was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for a possible broken arm. His passenger, 17-year old Hunter Harvey of White Plains, was transported to the hospital for possible minor head injuries from striking the windshield.

Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
