HPD arrests man for having stolen gun

A man was arrested for having a stolen gun during a traffic stop early Saturday morning in Hopkinsville.

A traffic stop was performed on a pickup pulling a trailer just before 4 a.m., with a report saying the driver failed to use a turn signal and that there were no lights on the trailer.

A search was conducted due to an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and a passenger, 29-year old Darrell Majors of Hopkinsville, told officers they’d find a handgun where he had been sitting.

A computer check showed the gun had been reported stolen out of Louisville.

Majors was arrested for receiving a stolen firearm.
