Governor announces 316 new cases of COVID-19

Governor Andy Beshear announced 316 new cases of COVID-19 and one additional death Saturday.

Kentucky now has 15,167 total cases of the virus and 554 deaths. The latest fatality is a 78-year old woman from Fayette County.

At least 3,730 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.

The governor also reminded Kentuckians that on Friday, the Kentucky Department for Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack warned Kentuckians that air quality in the state may be poor this weekend and into next week. An enormous cloud of dry and dusty air that originated over the Sahara Desert will move across the southern United States over the next three to seven days.

Meanwhile, Tennessee reported 40,172 cases of the coronavirus—up 728 from Friday. There were seven additional deaths, bringing that total to 584. Montgomery County gained four new cases, Robertson added nine and Stewart County remained steady.
