After initially saying the Western Kentucky State Fair was postponed with the hopes of finding a way to have a fair later in the year, organizers announced Friday that the event is officially canceled in 2020.
In a Facebook post Friday afternoon, the announcement says the decision to cancel is due to the health and safety of fair goers.
The fair, as originally scheduled, would have begun this weekend.
