Kentucky’s May unemployment rate was down from April as more of the economy was emerging from pandemic shutdowns, but it was of course up significantly from one year ago.
The May jobless rate was an even 11 percent, down 5.6 percent from April and up from the 4.3 percent recorded in May of 2019.
The national unemployment number was 13.3 percent in May, down from 14.7 percent in April.
