Six injured in crash near Olmstead, alcohol suspected as factor

Excessive speed and alcohol are suspected as factors in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Logan County that injured six people.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office investigated and determined 24-year old Brian Austin Hyde of Russellville was driving a single-cab pickup truck on Coleman Road in a reckless manner shortly before 2:30 a.m. when he lost control in loose gravel.

The truck dropped off the right shoulder of the road, struck an embankment and rolled onto the driver’s side door.

Hyde had to be extricated from the truck by the Olmstead Volunteer Fire Department. Hyde and 19-year old Alexis Rosser of Russellville were flown by helicopter to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

Three juveniles in the pickup were taken to Logan Memorial Hospital and a fourth went to Tennova Health Hospital in Clarksville.
