Monday is deadline to request mail-in absentee ballot for primary

Monday is the deadline to apply for a mail-in absentee ballot for the June 23 primary and there’s still time to vote absentee at the courthouse.

The Christian County Clerk’s Office reported that 6,000 people had requested an absentee ballot by mail as of Saturday afternoon, 4,000 had already been sent out and a little over 1,000 would go out Monday.

About 1,275 ballots have already been returned.

All registered voters can request an absentee ballot at govoteky.com and they must be postmarked or turned in at the courthouse or sheriff’s department by 6 p.m. June 23.

You can vote absentee in person at the Christian County Courthouse during regular business hours. Walk-ins are allowed, but you can also make an appointment by calling 270-887-4107.

About 290 people have already cast a ballot at the courthouse.
