A portion of the Greenway System rail trail will be closed starting Monday to allow for easement clearing work.
According to a news release, the stretch of the rail trail starting by the Hopkinsville Dog Park and running to Cox Mill Road will be closed to the public for three to four days, weather permitting. The closure will only take place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day will be open before and reopened after the designated daily closure period.
The trail closure is to allow tree trimming and underbrush clearing to maintain regulated safety distances around a major TVA high-tension service line that feeds a nearby sub-station. The clearing work will be done by crews from Hopkinsville Public Works and Hopkinsville Electric System.
