That puts the overall total at 148, according to the Tuesday update, which shows 33 ‘active’ cases in the community and with 112 individuals having recovered from the virus. Christian County remains at three COVID-19 related deaths. Since the pandemic began locally, there have been 12 cases in the pediatric age group, 100 cases in the young adult to middle aged grouping, 33 in the older adult category and three in the elderly age group.
Jennie Stuart Health is now reporting seven COVID-19 positive patients are currently hospitalized. Between Jennie Stuart testing and the Christian County Health Department testing, 4,103 people have been tested locally.
Christian County ranks in the top 15 for highest number of cases in the state. The department reports that as things continue to reopen and people begin to gather more, an increase in positive cases can be expected—they ask that people continue to frequently wash their hands and social distance when possible.
