HPD investigating shooting, wreck

Hopkinsville police are investigating a shooting incident that led to wreck on Fort Campbell Boulevard Monday night.

Corey Lee, a Fort Campbell soldier residing in Hopkinsville, was meeting with unknown suspects in the parking lot of Lowes when he was robbed, according to Hopkinsville Police Lt. Seth Meek.

Lee attempted to follow the vehicle after the robbery to get a license plate number and that’s when he was fired upon. Lee then crashed into a vehicle at Fort Campbell Boulevard and the Bypass.

EMS transported Lee to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and he was later transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the other vehicle were taken to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital with minor injuries.
