Man charged with third-offense driving on a DUI suspended license, marijuana trafficking

The Hopkinsville Police Department has charged a man with his third-offense of driving on a DUI suspended license and trafficking.

According to the police report, officers observed 31-year old Benjamin Murray of Hopkinsville operating and parking a vehicle facing the wrong way on North Kentucky Avenue Friday afternoon. Officers recognized him as having a suspended license and made contact with Murray, who allegedly had a strong smell of marijuana on his person. A search was conducted on the vehicle he had been driving, and it allegedly revealed multiple 12 ounce bags of marijuana.

Murray told officers he had not been driving—he was arrested and charged with third-offense driving on a DUI suspended license, trafficking in marijuana, failure to maintain insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
