Governor announces 244 new cases of COVID-19, two deaths

Governor Andy Beshear gave a brief update about COVID-19 in Kentucky Saturday, and announced 244 new cases.

That brings the overall total up to 7,688 since the pandemic began, but 2,768 people have recovered from the coronavirus.  Two more Kentuckians have died, putting the state’s number of deaths at 334.  Governor Beshear says more Kentuckians are also now in Intensive Care Units across the state.

The Governor says hospitalizations are down however, and he encouraged people to keep up the good work on staying safe and healthy, both at work and at home.

Testing is increasing as well, with 129,405 individuals having taken the test so far.  Tennessee is up to 16,970 cases and 290 since the pandemic began.  Montgomery County is at 204 cases, Robertson County has 274 and Stewart County remains at seven cases.
