The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is set to begin construction a new bridge over the CSX railroad tracks on Substation Road in Christian County next week.
According to a news release, work will begin on Wednesday with the project set to be completed in the fall. This will require Substation Road to close—at about the 18-mile marker of U.S. 41.
A marked detour for motorists will be set up and signed using U.S. 41, Kelly Church Road and Old Madisonville Road. Trucks and other over-sized vehicles are encouraged to take an alternate route. Motorists should anticipate reduced speeds and observe traffic control while traveling through this work zone.
