UHA announces plan for graduation

Plans have been announced for University Heights Academy to hold a graduation ceremony while also maintaining social distancing.

Head of School Beth Unfried sent an email to UHA families saying an outdoor graduation is set for Thursday, May 21 at 6 p.m. in the front parking lot of the school. It will be moved to May 22, in the case of rain.

The audience will be very limited as each senior will arrive in one vehicle with their family and will have a designated parking spot where the ceremony can be viewed. No other cars will be allowed on campus during that time and families will remain in their vehicles.

Seniors will wear their caps and gowns and will be called up to the stage area while socially distancing to be announced and to receive their diploma.

The ceremony will be recorded and posted to UHA’s website and it may be live streamed.

Seniors and their families will then be led off campus with a police escort for a farewell parade.
