The Dawson Springs Independent School System has announced plans or a drive-thru graduation for the Class of 2020.
In fact, the district will have a senior class parade followed by the drive-thru graduation.
District officials say the parade will start at 5:30 p.m.on Friday, May 22nd. Seniors will be a passenger in their immediate family’s vehicle. The Dawson Springs school resource officer and Dawson Springs police chief will lead the parade through town.
It will conclude at the town square where a stage will be set up. Students will step out of their vehicle, their name will be called, and they will receive any honors earned along with cords and stoles, walk across the stage to receive their diploma and return to their vehicle and safely exit the area.
The event will be streamed live on the Dawson Springs Independent School System Facebook page, as there will be nowhere for anyone to congregate outside and watch the proceedings.
