Plans in place for Fort Campbell HS virtual graduation

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases associated with Fort Campbell continues to fall and the high school on post has plans for a virtual graduation in place.

Fort Campbell and 101st Airborne Division commander, Maj. Gen. Brian Winski said during a virtual town hall Tuesday night that only two active duty soldiers are now battling the virus.

The travel ban prohibiting soldiers from going more than 50 miles away from Fort Campbell remains in place, though many restrictions on recreation and other activities on post are being gradually lifted with social distancing guidance.

Fort Campbell High School Principal Kimberly Butts says they will be setting up appointments this week for seniors and their families to film their parts in a virtual graduation for the class of 2020 that will be streamed on May 16.

The school is hoping conditions allow an in-person graduation in June.
