A woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after allegedly leaving a small child unattended in a car for approximately an hour at Walmart.
An arrest citation for 24-year old Krista Bucello of Hopkinsville says officers were called to the Walmart Supercenter and learned the five-year old boy had been in the car with a dog for about 30 minutes prior to police arrival while Bucello and her husband shopped inside.
The officer stayed with the child for approximately another 30 minutes while police attempted to locate his parents. Bucello was arrested for second-degree wanton endangerment and her husband fled the scene, according to the report.
