The University of Louisville’s athletic department furloughed 45 staff members Wednesday and eliminated 40 staff positions in the latest budget moves due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Athletic director Vince Tyra also announced four percent pay cuts for staffers making more than $100-thousand, with those earning below that amount taking a two percent cut. The moves will save $1.5 million, but the furloughs, reductions and pay cuts do not include coaching staffs.
