Motorcyclist flown to Skyline following Logan Co. crash

A Russellville man was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville after reportedly being struck by a turkey while operating a motorcycle on Homer Chapel Road.

According to a news release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, 21-year old Jacob Nations of Russellville was operating a motorcycle eastbound on Homer Chapel when he was hit by a turkey.  The impact caused him to drop off the right side of the roadway and into a ditch line, where the motorcycle overturned and he was ejected.

Nations was flown to Skyline for treatment of injuries to his back and the left side of his body.  He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.  The Logan County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Russellville Rural Fire Department and Logan County EMS.
