The Pennyroyal Center has announced that a person connected to the center has tested positive for COVID-19.
Christian County remains at five patients who have tested positive, according to Emergency Management Director Randy Graham. The patient is exhibiting mild symptoms while self-quarantining at home.
Pennyroyal management believes a small number of staff members and approximately 25 adult patients were potentially exposed to this individual at one of its Hopkinsville locations. All staff who work at this location were individually notified, assessed for potential exposure and sent home to self-quarantine for 14 days.
The affected work areas were closed immediately and are undergoing thorough cleaning. Pennyroyal staff have also contacted each of the potentially affected patients by phone to notify them of the possible exposure and to give them further instructions.
