A fourth person with COVID-19 in Kentucky has died and a hotline has been established to report non-compliance with social distancing orders.
Governor Andy Beshear says an 83-year old female from Fayette County who had other underlying health conditions has died. Kentucky has a total of 124 confirmed cases of coronavirus, up 21 from Sunday’s total.
The governor says a man in Jefferson County became the second person in Kentucky who refused to comply with self-isolation orders and law enforcement had to step in to force him to comply.
A new hotline has been established allowing Kentuckians to report businesses, entities or agencies not complying with social distancing orders and the number is 1-833-KY-SAFER.
He continues to plead with Kentuckians to not buy more groceries than what they need, as doing so means others won’t get their necessary supplies.
Those who have questions about unemployment claims can now call the local career center at 270-889-6509. The governor says an issue with the Small Business Administration website has been rectified and Kentucky businesses can now apply for disaster loans and he’s hoping to hear good news soon that would allow independent contractors to draw unemployment benefits.
