Museums of Historic Hopkinsville providing online programming

The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County are doing what they can to bring history to those stuck at home, and online programming continues this week.

According to a news release, the Museums are currently closed due to social distancing caused by the coronavirus, but they are offering activities for students through Facebook Live videos and take-home kits available on scheduled days on the steps of the Pennyroyal Area Museum. All kits are free, but donations are appreciated.

Kits will be available for pick-up from 11am-1pm on the day of each program. Videos will stream at 3 p.m. on Tuesday called “Get Slimed with the Kelly Green Men” and on Thursday with the theme “Plant a Pennyroyal”.

There will also be programming for adults on Wednesday at 3 p.m., Thursday at 6:30 p.m. celebrating Women’s History Month, Friday at 10 a.m. with an artifact spotlight, and then Cooking in the Past on Friday at 3 p.m.
