Like other high school teams that were to play in the Boys and Girls Sweet 16 tournaments, Martin County awaits a decision on its future from the Kentucky High School Athletic Association.
The Cardinal boys were to make their first appearance since 1983 where they would face Owensboro Catholic in the opening round. The Lexington Herald Leader reports plans were to let the team travel 140 miles to Rupp Arena in limos. Instead, they await a decision by April 12th on whether the tournament will be played.
