Two Christian County Public School System employees received recognitions last week and the Christian County Middle School Percussion Ensemble performed at the KMEA Professional Development Conference.
To be selected, the CCMS ensemble sent a recorded performance to the Kentucky Music Educators Association selection committee who evaluated submissions and chose the group as one of two percussion ensembles for a performance slot at the 2020 conference.
Christian County High School Band Director Anthony Darnall was named the 2019-2020 3rd District KMEA High School Teacher of the Year. Retired CCPS Chief Instructional Office, Amy Wilcox, was selected as the 2019-2020 3rd District KMEA Administrator of the Year.
CCPS had eight students selected for the KMEA All-State ensembles including Jared Chance-Martin, Jaylan Taggart, Levi Mitchell and Ashley Phan. All-State Guitar Ensemble members include James Craft, Jacob Littlepage and Cameron Poland. Chantell Day was selected to All-State Choir.
