WKU basketball trying to find buy game for 2020-21 season

Western Kentucky is in need of a guarantee game for the 2020-21 basketball season. The Bowling Green Daily News reports WKU athletics director Todd Stewart as saying they have contacted 60 schools who claim they need a buy-game next season, but are told they aren’t interested in playing the Hilltoppers. Stewart added one school WKU wants to play is Murray State. The two schools haven’t played each other since 2014 and Stewart indicates Murray State doesn’t want to play WKU. WKU has even offered to play Murray State in football as part of a basketball series. Murray State athletics director Kevin Saal said in an e-mail to the Daily News that when the two sides are able to determine a mutually beneficial scenario, they are open to advancing discussions.
